What started as a simple love for plants eventually became something much more.
I’ve always been drawn to plants, though I didn’t initially see it as a career. In my early twenties, I returned to school to study horticulture through the College of Western Idaho, where I spent two and a half years in hands-on training.
During that time, I also worked in the greenhouses through a work-study program—gaining practical, day-to-day experience alongside my education. That combination shaped the direction of my work moving forward.
I initially considered going into farming, but quickly realized my interest was rooted in the greenhouse. I was drawn to tropical plants—their structure, movement, and the way they transform a space.
After graduating, I was introduced to interior plant care and knew I had found the right path. I spent the next several years working in the Treasure Valley, refining my skills and building a strong foundation in plant design and maintenance.
In 2019, I founded The Plant People with a clear focus—to bring thoughtful plant design and consistent, professional care into both residential and commercial spaces.
What began with a small group of clients has grown into a collection of long-term relationships, built on trust, consistency, and attention to detail. Each space is approached with care, taking into account lighting, environment, and the long-term health of the plants—not just how they look the day they’re installed.
Today, my work centers around creating and maintaining spaces that feel balanced, natural, and intentionally cared for—whether in a private home, a professional setting, or a large-scale atrium.
