Our Story

What started as a simple love for plants eventually became something much more.

As a child, I was always drawn to plants, but I never imagined it would become my career. In my early twenties, still unsure of my long-term path, I made the decision to go back to school and pursue a degree in horticulture.

What followed was two and a half years of hands-on learning through the College of Western Idaho. During that time, I also worked in the greenhouses through a work study program—gaining real, day-to-day experience while I was still in school. That combination of education and hands-on work completely changed the direction of my life.

I originally thought I would go into farming, but it didn’t take long to realize that my passion truly lived inside the greenhouse. I was drawn to tropical plants—their structure, their movement, and the way they transform a space.

After graduating, I was introduced to the world of interior plant care, and I immediately knew I had found the right path. I spent the next six years working for a company here in the Treasure Valley, refining my skills and gaining invaluable experience.

In April 2019, I took the leap and started The Plant People with just a handful of accounts.

Less than a year later, the uncertainty of 2020 tested everything. Like many small business owners, I didn’t know what the future would hold. But through consistency, care, and strong client relationships, I was able to not only maintain every account—but grow.

Since then, The Plant People has continued to expand steadily, built on trust, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for the work.

Today, I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love every day—creating and maintaining spaces where plants don’t just survive, but truly thrive.
